The full experience
Photographing a baby takes time. A full newborn session can take up to 4 hours (especially with "older" babies), but it's all worth it if you want to get the most amazing pictures of your little one.
My sessions are completely baby led. Some babies prefer things one way, some prefer things a different way, and because of that no two shoots are ever the same. I only book one session a day to ensure we are not rushed and gives us plenty of time for baby to feed and settle and also means I get to sneak in a few cuddles along the way too!
Most people book in after their 12 week scan- this is to ensure you don't miss out as I take only a limited amount of newborn bookings each month.
I can, on occasion however squeeze in last minute bookings so if your baby has arrived or is close to arriving please do get in contact and I may be able to fit you in!
Newborn babies best to photograph in the first two weeks of their life, preferably between 5 and 10 days. Why so early? Because at this age they sleep deeper, don't really mind being unclothed, and are still flexible enough to curl up in those cute little poses how they used to sleep in mummy's tummy. However, if your baby is a little older than that it's still fine and absolutely doable, but poses might be limited.
Captured Magic Photography do not charge a session fee to attend a session and have pictures taken.
A £99 non refundable retainer is required in order to secure your booking.This will be deducted from your final order at your viewing appointment.

Where is the session held?
Newborn sessions take place in my studio in Newport, only about 3 minutes drive from the M4.There is parking directly outside which is handy, and usually plenty of spaces off street.I also have tea, coffee, cold drinks and biscuits ;)
What do I need to bring?
You don't really need to bring anything, i have a large selection of props for both boys and girls.You might want to bring spare change of clothes for yourself, just in case if there's an accident :)
Can we be included in the photos?
ABSOLUTELY! I know not everyone (including me) feel comfortable to step in front of the camera only a few days after giving birth, but those early days pass by in a blink of an eye and it will be great to look back later on how tiny they were in your hands!Your partner and siblings are welcome and encouraged to join too.
